Friday September 10 – Travel day to Little Rock, AR

The bus will pick-up folks from two departure points in southeast Texas – Liberty and Silsbee Our stop tonight is the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel in Little Rock, AR.

Saturday September 11 – Travel to Paducah, KY

Today we travel on to Kentucky and begin our journey in Kentucky with a stop at the National Quilt Museum. This is an art museum that exhibits fiber art and quilting from around the world. The museum is recognized by USA Today as one of the world’s top quilt displays.

Sunday September 12 – Louisville and Frankfort, KY

As we continue our journey into Kentucky we head over to Louisville and make a stop at the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. As we arrive you will see a 120 foot baseball bat at the entrance which is an exact scale replica of Babe Ruth’s 34inch Louisville Slugger bat. With over 132 years of making baseball bats and producing some 1.8 million bats every year you will enjoy visiting the museum and factory where you will see how the bats are made. Forbes calls this one of the best sports museum in the world. From the forest to the field you will follow the timber that’s turned into hard hitting history. After our time at the museum and factory we will head east to the capital city of Kentucky – Frankfort, where we will spend the next three nights.

Monday, September 13 – Frankfort, KY

Today we will visit the capitol of Kentucky where the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The capitol houses the three branches of the state government of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Overlooking the city of Frankfort is the gravesite of Daniel and Rebecca Boone. Also on the agenda today will be a visit to Buffalo Trace Distillery. This distillery was one of very few in the country to survive Prohibition. After a scrumptious delicious lunch we head east to the city of Lexington, KY. Here we will have a step-on guide that will give us a tour of the beautiful countryside of the bluegrass region that is home to many of the horse farms. We will make a visit to one horse farm that is a farm for retired thoroughbred horses. Old Friends provides a dignified retirement to Thoroughbreds whose racing and breeding careers have come to an end. Then we head back to Frankfort to our hotel.

Tuesday, September 14 – Creation Museum

Prepare to believe as you explore 75,000 square feet of state-of-the-art exhibits, a high-tech Planetarium, full size Allosaurus skeleton, stunning botanical gardens, petting zoo, and more. The Creation Museum allows you to venture through biblical history.

Wednesday, September 15 – ARK Encounter

About an hour north of Frankfort you will find bigger than imagination, this life-sized Noah’s Ark. The Ark Encounter in Williamstown, KY features a full size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old. From the moment you turn the corner and the towering Ark comes into view, to the friendly animals in the zoo, or the jaw-dropping exhibits inside the Ark you’ll experience the pages of the Bible like never before.

Thursday, September 16 – Churchill Downs and Kentucky Derby Museum

Today you begin with breakfast at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY as you watch the morning workout of the Thoroughbred horses. Following breakfast we will visit the Kentucky Derby Museum that includes a 30 minute walking tour of Churchill Downs Racetrack, an 18 minute media experience that will make your heart race and your emotions soar called “The Greatest Race”. Our time at Churchill Downs will conclude with lunch at the Derby Café and then we’re off to the Corvette Museum in Bowing Green, KY and then on to Nashville, TN where tonight you will enjoy a great music show of country music on the General Jackson Showboat.

Friday, September 17 – Little Rock, AR

We travel back to Little Rock, AR for a good nights rest.

Saturday, September 18 – Back to Texas and Home Sweet Home
